Cultural festival unites more localities of Moldova

Chisinau, 10 June /MOLDPRES/ – Over 15 villages on both banks of the Dniester participated on 09 June at Festival "Paromul cultural Rascov – Vadul – Rascov" (Cultural ferry Rascov – Vadul – Rascov). The event took place in village Vadul-Rascov, Soldanesti district, native locality of late poet Dumitru Matcovschi.
The festival agenda included evolution of folk ensembles, folk dancers from the Dniester area with a programme of songs, dances and theatrical sequences. Also, there were organised excursions to tourist destinations of Vadul – Rascov: House – museum "Dumitru Matcovschi", Jewish Cemetery, Grottoes in Cliffs of XVth century, etc.
There were prepared photo exhibitions for festival representing tourist attractions in participating villages, exhibitions with drawings of pupils from Rascov and Vadul – Rascov, film screenings with memories of eldest inhabitants of these villages about their friendship with neighbours over the Dniester, traditions, history, crafts, as well as sports competitions and asphalt drawing contests, traditional dishes, a flash-mob of dance ensemble "Coasa", a fire and a friendship hora on bank of the Dniester.
Last week, there took place first festival with similar generic and activities, but in village Rascov on the left bank of the Dniester river, in the renovated Culture House supported by EU.
The festival is organised within project "Treasures of the Danube", realised by Municipal Association "Casa de casa" from commune Vadul – Rascov, Soldanesti district, in partnership with initiative group of Rascov village. The collaboration is supported financially by EU under programme "Support to confidence-building measures", implemented by UNDP.
According to organisers, festival aims to strengthen cultural, tourist and friendship relations of 15 villages on both banks of the Dniester river, located at foot of Dniester rocks, starting with Soldanesti and Camenca to Dubasari districts.
