Chisinau, 17 September /MOLDPRES/ - “Despite the geographical distance which separates us, the multidimensional cooperation between Moldova and China records a positive dynamic, the political dialogue is active and constant and the trade and economic exchanges are up by about 35 per cent per cent in the first half of 2018 against the same period of the last year, ” the head of the Chinese parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee, Zhang Yesui, said at a meeting with Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Tudor Ulianovschi in Beijing, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s press service has reported.

The Moldovan diplomacy head stressed the need to strengthen the bilateral strategic dialogue, given that, in the last two years, a string of concrete actions have been registered to enhance inter-human contacts by facilitating the visa regime for the Chinese citizens and attraction of foreign investments to Moldova.

The head of the Chinese parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee highly appreciated the launch of bilateral consultations on the negotiation of an eventual  free trade agreement between Moldova and China, mutually advantageous for both sides, with the third round recently held in Chisinau.

In the context, Minister Ulianovschi stressed the importance of fair talks, which would take into account the needs of the Moldovan exporters and economic suppliers. He asked to fully remove the import taxes on the Moldovan wines and the main categories of farming goods meant to be exported to China.

The head of the Chinese parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee, Zhang Yesui, in his capacity of chairman of the Moldovan-Chinese parliamentary friendship group, accepted an invitation by Minister Ulianovschi to pay a working visit to Chisinau in the near future.

Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Tudor Ulianovschi is on a working visit to China on 17-21 September.
