More Chisinau-based enterprises demand disconnection from heating supply

Chisinau, 2 April /MOLDPRES/ - A number of 110 enterprises from Chisinau have demanded disconnection from the supply with thermal energy.  

The head of the communication service at the Termoelectrica stock company, Elena Junghina, had told MOLDPRES that, for the time being, the enterprise did not receive demands on the disconnection from heating supply on behalf of managers of blocks of flats. “Yet, we have information from areas that decision-makers in charge of regulating the temperature intervene, including through disconnection during the day or at night, as residents need it. The residents are the ones deciding when they disconnect themselves or connect to the services, depending on the necessity,” Junghina noted.    

Under the contract on the supply of thermal energy, Termoelectrica S.A. ceases the supply of thermal energy for heating at a request by the manager of the dwellings funds, as in accordance with the legal provisions, the authorized representative of consumers is the manager of the dwellings fund, who has right to demand the starting or ceasing of the supply of thermal agent in the block of flats only upon a consultation with the residents.   

„The procedure of connection and disconnection of heating supply services has remained the same. On this period of transition of the air temperature outdoors, the managers of the dwellings fund, by common consent with the residents, establish the debit of the thermal agent, so that there is thermal comfort in flats. The installations of Termoelectrica S.A., which are in blocks’ basements and ensure the supply of thermal energy, allow consumers to disconnect themselves from heating supply during the day and in the evening, when the air temperatures are low, if necessary, the consumption of thermal energy can be resumed,”  the director general of Termoelectrica S.A., Veaceslav Eni, said.     

The acting general mayor of Chisinau, Ruslan Codreanu, said that he would later sign an instruction on the ending of the heating season in the capital, depending on the weather conditions. The mayor noted that, for the time being, the hospitals, schools and kindergartens cannot remain without heating, as it is pretty cold at night. “I receive messages from people that it is quite warm in flats. You may disconnect or regulate the heating directly from the block of apartments, by a request to the manager. It is important that most resident agree with this,” Codreanu wrote on his wage in a social network.   

The Termoelectrica stock company provides with thermal energy 5,678 real estate units, of which 594 budgetary institutions, about 814 economic agents, including 209,000 flats in about 2,955 blocks of flats from Chisinau.
