Moldovan cabinet earmarks one million lei for payment of salaries in several institutions

Chisinau, 1 July /MOLDPRES/ - The government, at a today’s meeting, ruled to earmark 1.085 million lei for the payment of salaries in several institutions.  

At the cabinet meeting, Finance Minister Natalia Gavrilita said that the money would be allocated from the fund provided for in the 2019 state budget and was meant to cover the spending for the enforcement of the law on the single salary payment system in the public sector.

„The concerned law was approved in haste in late last year, after the budgets of some authorities had been worked out and as a result, imbalances were created. More exactly, institutions with a small number of employees, where the salaries increased by far following the reform, faced the situation that they have no longer money for the payment of salaries. This is a measure of the moment, which allows the payment of salaries till next August, when we will be able to go to parliament with a draft on the rectification of the budget for 2019 and we will solve certain differences emerged in connection with the enforcement of this law. The filling of the budget for the entire year will be made through the rectification of the budget law,” Gavrilita said.    

Among the institutions concerned, there are the Anti-doping National Agency, Intelligence and Security Service and two institutions subordinated to the Education, Culture and Research Ministry and Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry.
