Moldovan president meets Cuban official

Chisinau, 15 October /MOLDPRES/- President Igor Dodon met with Ana Teresita González Fraga, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, who is in on a working visit to Moldova, the presidential press service has reported.

The head of state welcomed the presence of the Cuban official in Moldova. The sides discussed the current stage of cooperation relations between the two countries, opting for their development in all areas of common interest. Dodon voiced hope that the current visit will boost bilateral dialogue, contributing to the development and extension of relations between the two states.

The sides found a unused potential in the economic sector. The last mission of the businessmen from the Republic of Moldova to Cuba, organized under the auspices of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Moldova, took place in April 2013. Thus, the president advocated for boosting the relations on given area, promoting contacts in the business environment, increasing trade, carrying out bilateral economic missions, participating in fairs, exhibitions and other specialized events, development of cooperation in the agri-food and tourism sectors, as well as in the health sector.

Also, the officials have spoken out for fruitful collaboration within international institutions.

At the end of the discussion, Igor Dodon thanked the high official for invitation to visit Cuba in a convenient time.
