Chisinau, 6 November /MOLDPRES/ - The M1 national road, which begin at the border with Romania-Leuseni-Chisinau-Dubasari and ends at the border with Ukraine, from the km 95.3 to 96, will be restored and extended.
For the works to be able to be carried out, the government today approved a decision, according to which 1.1168 hectares of state-owned grounds, placed inside the dwelling space of Chisinau, were transmitted free of charge to the management of the Apele Moldovei (Moldova’s Waters) Agency and the one of the State Administration of Roads.
The concerned road segment is a component part of the Chisinau municipality’s belt road. The decision to restore and extend it was taken, given that the flow of transport in the region has considerably increased and the road bridges on the concerned road segment were subjected to excessive burdens and started degrading prematurely.
In these conditions, the project’s authors proposed to restore the road and extend the road knot placed between the km 95.3 and 96 following the extension of the roadway from 2 to 4 movement lanes. The actions are to ease the traffic in the region.
Economics and Infrastructure Minister Vadim Brinzan has said that the project documentation had been already worked out and decision-makers were prepared to start the works.
