Moldovan Prosecutor General presents priorities for 2020

Chisinau, 21 February /MOLDPRES/- The Superior Council of Prosecutors today approved the priorities of the Prosecutor General's Office for 2020.

The meeting’s agenda included presentation of priorities of the Prosecutor General's Office for this year. Prosecutor General Alexandr Stoianoglo said that the priorities are related to developing the institution capacity and effective trial.

According to the prosecutor general, in 2020 the institution’s activity will focus on excluding from the practice of prosecutors of cases of human rights violation, abusive starting of criminal investigation and avoiding unjustified detention of people.

Under the legislation, the Superior Council of Prosecutors is the guarantor of independence and impartiality of prosecutors, the institution ensures the appointment, transfer, promotion according to the disciplinary measures towards the prosecutors.
