Children without parents to receive allowances worth up to 10,000 lei in Moldova

Chisinau, 4 March /MOLDPRES/ - The children who have remained without parental care will receive allowances worth up to 10,000 lei on behalf of the state. The cabinet of ministers approved a decision to this effect today.    

Data unveiled by the cabinet shows that a number of 1,254 young people from Moldova will benefit from monthly allowances for maintenance. It is about the minors, who remained without parental care even temporarily, as well as the young people who, till turning 18 years, held this status and who continue their education.  

Under the document, the pupils and students aged up to 18 years will monthly receive 2,198.8 lei each and the ones older than 18 – 2,028.3 lei. Also, young people will be able to benefit from allowances, including during the period of vacations, except for the last academic year, for which the allowance is established till the end of the examination session.

At the same time, the new draft decision preserves the right of the children who remained without parental care to one-off allowance worth 5,000 lei at the finishing of the boarding school, as well as one-off allowance at the graduation of the education institution – 10,000 lei.

The provisions of the present draft decision will enter into force on 1 January 2021.
