Moldova's Electoral Code might be amended

Chisinau, 20 May /MOLDPRES/ - The parliament’s juridical commission for rules and immunities today approved a report on the draft law on the amendment of the Electoral Code.   

Under the draft, one paragraph of the Article 123 of the Electoral Code is to be abrogated. The paragraph sees that, till the mandate’s validation, the elected candidate for the office of Moldova’s president submits to the Constitutional Court the confirmation of the fact that he is not member of any political party and does not hold any other public or private office.   

To become law, the amendments must be approved by the parliament.
