Bomb alert at Russian Embassy in Chisinau proves to be hoax

Chisinau, 1 June /MOLDPRES/ - The bomb alert at Russia’s Embassy in Chisinau has proved to be hoax. The press officer of the Moldovan capital’s Police, Natalia Stati, confirmed the information for MOLDPRES.

According to Stati, after Bomteh employees had checked the perimeter of the embassy, a suspect green bag was found at a distance of about 15-20 metres from the diplomatic mission. No explosive means were detected following the verification.

The Buiucani Police Inspectorate from Chisinau today at 11:27 was alerted that the headquarters of the Russian Embassy on the Stefan cel Mare blvd. would have been mined. All specialized services immediately went on the spot and verified the embassy’s headquarters and the adjacent area.
