Czech Republic donates consignment of medical equipment to Moldova

Chisinau, 10 November /MOLDPRES/ - The Czech Republic has donated a consignment of medical equipment to Moldova. The equipment was delivered today and is meant for medical employees and beneficiaries of the temporary placement centres for people with disabilities.   

Attending the delivery ceremony were Health, Labour and Social Protection Minister Viorica Dumbraveanu and Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Moldova Zdeněk Krejčí.  

„The Czech nation’s gesture is meant to support the authorities to strengthen the COVID-19 prevention and control measures in residential institutions, through supply with protection equipment and training for its correct use. At the same time, I thank the Czech Embassy also for the endowment of those two district hospitals with multifunctional beds, which have already been distributed to intensive therapy sections,’’ the minister said.  

The Czech diplomat noted that the donation offered today was part of the project, Covid 19 Response – We Help People Cope with Pandemic. The project’s goal is to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and attenuate the pandemic’s effects on the professionals in the health sector and disabled people from Moldova.

The donation provided today consists of equipment of protection against the COVID-19 infection (protection masks, gloves, suits, disinfectants for hands and surfaces, disposable coats and pinafores, visors). The equipment is meant for medical employees and beneficiaries of the temporary placement centres for people with disabilities from Badiceni (Soroca), Branzeni (Edinet), Balti and Cocieri (Dubasari), worth 588,161 lei in all.
