Chisinau, 11 November /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu today made an inspection visit to the site of construction of the national road Basarabeasca-Ceadar-Lunga. The road was restored on a length of 12.4 km and has two movement lanes. The PM was informed that the works had been completed 90 per cent. In continuation, the road marking is to be made and the road signs are to be set, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The prime minister said that the development of the road infrastructure was one of the basic priorities of the government. Thus, the repair of the national road will ensure the movement conditions needed for the residents and will prompt the attraction of investors. ‘’We are happy with the fact that local companies work within the Good Roads programme; this means creation of jobs, taxes paid to the state, means an impetus to all value chain of the economy,’’ Ion Chicu said.
Also, the PM informed the entrepreneur who carries out the works about the cabinet’s initiative to diminish the expenses of economic agents, stimulating the employment of as many as possible people able to work. Thus, in 2021, entrepreneurs who are to employ people who have not worked in Moldova in the last three years will be subsidized for the taxes paid for a period of 12 months. ‘’Through such projects, we are set to call Moldovans from abroad home. This is also a measure to encourage economic agents to employ these persons,’’ the prime minister noted.
The bashkan (governor) of Gagauzia said that the roads’ infrastructure was one of the most important elements contributing to the return of young people to settlements. ‘’This project is one of the most costly, implemented in the region so far. We are confident that the infrastructure will improve the living standards in all settlements and will boost Gagauzia’s industrialization,’’ Irina Vlah said.
The works on road’s rehabilitation started in last May and the deadline for making it available for movement is December this year. Works of drainage, arranging bridges, as well as of platforms in waiting stations, etc. were carried out within the project.
The sum of the contract is about 74 million lei, of which more than 70 million lei was turned to account this year. The means were provided for in the programme on repair of national public roads for 2020.
