Moldova cabinet approves way of keeping register of Moldova's soils

Chisinau, 18 November /MOLDPRES/ - The government today approved the regulation on the way of keeping the information system, Register of Moldova’s Soils.   

The regulation establishes the rules of registration, updating and erasing the data on describing Moldova’s soil cover, determines the responsibility and powers of keeping the Register, as well as the procedure of supply and publishing of the information contained in the Register.  

„The register represents the totality of the systematized information on soils, which determines their location in space, assessing the soil’s state of quality and/or the specific features which evaluate the state of quality and the potential fertility of the soil cover. The Register is the basic source of data about soils, registrars and providers of data, order and the set of needed data for record, the documents which regulate the rules of registration and the access to data from the Register and other information of reference favourable for updating and using of the data from the Register,’’ the document reads.     

The register is a state information resource, which is the official source of updating the data for assessing the soil cover. The main goal of keeping the Register is to create a single systematized source of special information on assessing the state of quality and properties of the soil.  

At the same time, the register is organized, in order to ensure the simpleness, efficiency, transparency of the processes of registration and availability of updated data, acting also for users as catalogue of meta-data on the information registered, including at the navigation through the topic-related pedological geo-portal www.soluri.md, giving possibility of its accessing, updating and use.

The control over the fulfillment of this decision is entrusted with the administrative authority in charge of implementing the policies in the field of land relations and land monitoring. The present decision enters in force on the date of its publication in Moldova’s Official Journal.
