Investment Agency launched new program to support local entrepreneurs

Chisinau, 2 February /MOLDPRES/- Export Mission - the title of a new program launched by the Investment Agency of Moldova in cooperation with the World Bank. The program was presented today by the organizers as "a new export project in identifying new foreign business partners for local entrepreneurs."

The program includes identification of relevant business partners in the target markets: Romania, Germany, the Baltic States, and organization of individual bilateral (B2B) sessions for deliveries. "The Export Mission aims at increasing and diversifying exports from key sectors of Moldova," said Rodica Verbeniuc, director general of the Investment Agency.

Business missions will be organized by sectors, as follows: fresh and processed fruits - Germany, Baltic States; electronics, machines, equipment - Romania, Germany; furniture manufacturing - Romania, Germany.

Local entrepreneurs are invited to fill in a participation form by 12 February. Only 30 companies will be selected in the competition, ten for each established sector, which will benefit from two business missions, on two different export markets.

The program is part of the Competitiveness Improvement Project, funded by the World Bank, which supports the Moldovan government in strengthening the export competitiveness of economic agents through non-reimbursable financing and the credit line for exporters; provides assistance to the authorities in creating a favorable business environment and strengthening the institutional capacities of the Investment Agency and the Organization for the Development of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises.
