Authorities consider opportunities for exporting Moldovan products to Baltic States

Chisinau, 11 February /MOLDPRES/- Export opportunities of Moldovan products to the Baltic States were approached at the last session of the Export Morning program, held yesterday online under the Investment Agency.

According to Iuliana Dragalin, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure, Moldovan economic agents' interest in increasing their skills and export capacities is welcome. At the same time, the official thanked the representatives of the Baltic States for supporting Moldova in strengthening good governance practices under regional development, reform implementation etc.

The trade and economic relations between Moldova and the Baltic countries during the last five years have seen a dynamic upward. In January-November 2020, the foreign trade between Moldova and the countries recorded over 45 million dollars. Also, in 2019, the foreign direct investment from the Baltic States to Moldova amounted to 51.93 million dollars, which is 1.21% of the total volume of investments in the country, according to MEI.

Currently, economic cooperation between Moldova and the Baltic States is based on a number of bilateral documents such as Agreements on mutual promotion and protection of investments, Agreements on economic cooperation, as well as Agreements to avoid double taxation and provide for tax evasion on income and property.
