Moldovan capital's general mayor demands resignation of deputy mayor

Chisinau, 22 June /MOLDPRES/ - The Chisinau general mayor, Ion Ceban, today demanded the resignation of the deputy mayor, Victor Chironda, whom he accused of negative performances in work.   

At a news conference, Ceban enumerated the multitude of projects managed by deputy mayor Chironda, but which, according to Ceban, did not benefit from Chironda’s involvement. ‘’Zero involvement’’ said the Chisinau mayor, after announcing each of these projects. ‘’Victor Chironda has not fulfilled his job duties; all urbanism projects carried out in the city enjoyed the support and personal involvement of other deputy mayors,’’ Ceban noted.   

Ion Ceban also said that today he had signed an instruction, according to which all job duties of Chironda were shared among other deputy mayors. ‘’I demand that the deputy mayor, Victor Chironda, renders resignation; otherwise, I will initiate all procedures to dismiss him,’’ the Chisinau mayor stressed.     

The deputy mayor, Chironda, wrote on social networks that he would come up with clarifications for each of the charges brought by the general mayor and described his statements as false. ‘’The mayor has done what he can do better - he told lies. I will come up with clarifications on each of the items set forth by him – and I have nothing to hide,’’ Chironda wrote.
