Chisinau city hall to get 100 new buses by late 2021

Chisinau,1 July /MOLDPRES/- Chisinau city hall today signed the contract for the delivery of 100 new buses with the Turkish-Japanese company ISUZU. They will reach the capital by late 2021.
During the signing ceremony, Mayor Ion Ceban stressed that in the last 30 years, local public authorities have not signed such an important financial transaction. "In the last 30 years, the municipality of Chisinau has not signed such an imposing financial transaction - we are talking about about 13 million euros, the cost of 100 buses," said Ceban.
According to him, the signing of the contract took place after a year of complicated but transparent procedures, which will make the public transport system more convenient for citizens. “I want to change the composition of the entire existing car fleet within the Chisinau Urban Bus Park. After a year of complicated but transparent procedures, we managed to sign this contract, which means the modernization of the public transport system in the city, ie better travel conditions for residents ", said the mayor.
The representative of ISUZU thanked for the transparency of the tender in which he participated, emphasizing that the transport units produced by the company meet the quality standards of the European Union.
The ISUZU representative gave assurances that, by the end of the year, the one hundred buses will be delivered to Chisinau. The cost of a transport unit is 123 thousand euros. Their warranty is six years.
