First two cases of influenza registered in Moldova

Chisinau, 25 October /MOLDPRES/- First two cases of influenza were registered in the Republic of Moldova. Patients are from the north and center of the country and tests have shown the presence of seasonal H3N2 influenza.

According to the data of the National Agency for Public Health, the last case was detected last week in a woman from Ialoveni district. The first case of influenza was detected in a 17-year-old boy from Soroca.

ANSP specialists announce that the first 50 thousand doses of influenza vaccine, procured centrally from the sources of the National Medical Insurance Company (CNAM), and 50 thousand doses - donation from the United States of America - would soon arrive in the country. America.

Doctors point out that immunization with the flu vaccine is the safest and most effective way to prevent flu and avoid complications, and recommends that people in high-risk categories be vaccinated. The flu vaccine is provided free of charge.
