Moldovan government's concept for protection of child published in Official Journal

Chisinau, 8 July /MOLDPRES/ - The concept of the information system in the field of protection of the child, approved by the government, was published in the Official Journal (Monitorul Oficial) today.  

Under the document, the quality of social services provided to children and families with children will be improved and the competent authorities will be able to promptly intervene to prevent the risk situations.   

The new system will facilitate the process of collection, processing and dissemination of data got from various public authorities in charge of the segment of social assistance, health, education, public order and justice, who participate in the carrying out of measures of social protection of the child. At the same time, the system will replace the processes of manual reporting, which uses forms on paper, the collection of data by phone or through card indexes, integrating them in a single system, based on a coherent information structure.  

This instrument will also allow monitoring the performance in cases of children in the records of the custody authorities, in matters regarding the providing of social services, prevention and combating of violence against the child, repatriation of child, assistance to children victims/witnesses of offences.  

The information system is adjusted to the international standards and is, at the same time, adapted to the current needs and requirements nationally.
