Roadmen report about roads' rehabilitation, financed by European Commission, top European bank

Chisinau, 18 July /MOLDPRES/ - The leadership of the State Administration of Roads (ASD) today had an online conference with representatives of the Infrastructure and Regional Development Ministry (MIDR), European Commission  (EC) and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). The sides considered the progress of the works on the contracts on rehabilitation/construction of roads with the support of EBRD and EC, through the Neighboourhood Investment Facility (NIF) platform.   

The reporting included both the progress of works and the impediments reported by entrepreneurs on the following contracts: rehabilitation of the R1 road Chisinau – Ungheni –Sculeni, km 74+177 – km 96+200; 1 Construction of the R1 road, bypassing of the Bahmut village, , km 68+250 – km 74+177; construction of the M3 road, bypassing of the Slobozia Mare village, km 0+000 – km; rehabilitation of the M3 road, Chisinau—Giurgiulesti, stage 1: km 96+800 – km 151+200, , stage 2: km 151+200 – km 171+290 și km 179+650 – km 190+750; rehabilitation of the road R6, Chisinau- Orhei – Balti, stage 1: km 76+700 – km 94+700,  stage 2: km 99+530 – km 111+230 and bridge km 72+944; rehabilitation of the R34 road, Hancesti – Leova – Cahul, stage 1: km 0+000 – km 42+200, , stage 2: km 42+200 - km 83+000.

„We actively cooperate with the entrepreneurs, we monitor the proper carrying out of the projects on rehabilitation, repair and construction of national public roads, so that the external financial sources are turned to account efficiently, that we have safe and lasting roads,’’ the ASD acting director general, Sergiu Bejan, said.    

At the same time, the participants in the conference discussed new agreements due to be signed by Moldova’s government with international financial institutions.

The carrying out of projects with the support of international financial institutions takes place based on the agreements on financing signed by Moldova’s government within the Programme in the Roads’ Sector and the Project on Support of the Programme in the Roads’ Sector.
