PHOTO About 1,000 graduates of Nicolae Testemitanu Medical University of Moldova take oath

Chisinau, 15 June /MOLDPRES/ - About 1,000 graduates of the Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy today took the oath of physician and pharmacist.  

The event was held on the arena of the Chisinau-based Zimbru stadium. Attending the ceremony was the leadership of the education institution, teachers, graduates of the 2023 series of students and their family members.     

Attending the event, Health Minister Ala Nemerenco congratulated the young people on this symbol event in their life. „No profession has a closer connection through oath but the one of physician. I congratulate you on having managed to go through the difficult years of education. Not anyone can learn and do medicine. You are to study all your lives long; the COVID-19 pandemic proved this. Be proud, as you will be with people in the most difficult moments. They will entrust you the dearest things for them – the life and health. Presently, the national health system is modernizing and developing quickly. This is done for you to remain at home; the country needs you. I wish you to do your profession with dedication, sacrifice, perseverance and love for people,’’ Ala Nemerenco said.    

As many as 948 graduates took the oath this year: 599 native ones, 349 students coming from 11 countries – Australia, Bulgaria, India, Jordan, Israel, Poland, Russia, Sweden, USA, Turkey and Ukraine. A number of 678 out of these students finished the Medicine syllabus, 175 - stomatology, 60 – Pharmacy, 18 – Preventive medicine, 12 – Optometry and five – General medical assistance.
