PM says Moldova's integration in EU to be crucial investment in people's well-being, edification of prosperous state

Chisinau, 15 June /MOLDPRES/ - The modernization of the infrastructure, improvement of the social services, attraction of investments and implementation of projects locally represented some of the subjects discussed by Prime Minister Dorin Recean with the local public authorities of the first and second levels, as well as with representatives of the de-concentrated services of the central Straseni district today, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.  

The PM referred to the importance of consolidating the efforts for the modernization of communities and improving people’s living standards. Recean emphasized the European Village Programme, which comes up with financial solutions for a wide range of local projects. The prime minister also stressed that Moldova’s development according to the European model would bring a string of concrete benefits to the people.   

„We are sure that Moldova’s integration into EU will be a crucial investment in the well-being of the people and the edification of a prosperous state. Therefore, our absolute priority is the launch, till the end of this year, of the discussions on accession to the European Union. It is important that we speak to citizens about the opportunities of economic and social growth provided by the pre-accession stage. At the same time, we are obliged to find together the best solutions to the problems of the citizens and business environment,’’ Prime Minister Dorin Recean said.   

The local authorities highlighted the problems faced in their daily work. They also touched upon the insufficiency of specialists and labour force, triggered by young people’s migration abroad; lack of sewerage and aqueduct networks; the need to adjust the legal framework in the salary payment sector and of wider consultation of the budgetary and fiscal policy on the parity commission’s platform. At the same time, the mayors referred to the plans on settlements’ modernization, through the implementation of projects with foreign and domestic financing.    

PM Dorin Recean said that one of the cabinet’s priority goals was the modernization of villages and towns, as well as the enhancement of the living standards of all citizens.
