Livada Moldovei project

Chisinau, June 29. /MOLDPRES/- As part of the project Livada Moldovei, 2 ha of vines of technical varieties and a didactic orchard with an area of 0.5 ha were planted at the Center of Excellence in Viticulture and Winemaking in Chisinau. Cherry, plum and apricot saplings were planted in the orchard.

The students of the institution are involved in the production works, one of them is Victor Dicon from Ochiul - Alb, Drochia district, a second-year student at the Center. 

For the planting, care of the orchard and the vines, within the Livada Moldovei project, a state-of-the-art tractor and the equipment necessary for the maintenance of the plantations and the harvesting of fruit and grapes of technical varieties were procured.

Over 1 million 780 thousand euros are invested in rehabilitation and equipment at the Center. The investments include: the construction of the "Educational - experimental station in horticulture", its endowment, the organoleptic laboratory, the wine cellar, and the laboratory for processing horticultural products, with furniture, IT equipment and machinery.

The Livada Moldovei project is implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry.
