Moldovan president congratulated winners of 21 medals at European Weightlifting Championships

Chisinau, July 12. /MOLDPRES/- President Maia Sandu conveyed a congratulatory message to the Moldovan weightlifters who won 21 medals at the European Weightlifting Championships, the presidential press service has reported.

The Moldovan champions won 4 gold, 12 silver and 5 bronze medals. "I congratulate all 32 athletes who represented our country. I bring warm congratulations to Nicoleta Cojocaru, who became the European champion in weightlifting at only 13 years old, vice-champion Anastasia Cernopolc and vice-champions Alexandr Baladji, Danu Secrieru, Dan Betca, Ion Badanev and Vadim Dănuță. I wish the young athletes to reach the Olympic podium", said Maia Sandu.

The president congratulated the coaches and teachers from the Republican High School with Sports Profile and from the Municipal Boarding High School with Sports Profile. “Thank you for the talents. The Republic of Moldova hosts for the first time a European Championship at an Olympic sports event. We have shown that we are also good at organizing international competitions at home.
