Pre-Vetting Commission: Two other candidates for positions in CSP failed to pass assessment

Chisinau, July 12. /MOLDPRES/- Pre-Vetting Commission announced today that prosecutors Vasile Plevan and Gheorghe Graur, candidates for membership in the Superior Council of Prosecutors (CSP) did not pass the evaluation. According to the Commission, they do not meet the criteria of financial and ethical integrity.

The result of the checks is contained in the decisions sent today to the candidate prosecutors and the CSP, the institution responsible for organizing the competition.

Gheorghe Graur, prosecutor of the Chisinau Prosecutor's Office, and Vasile Plevan, interim deputy chief prosecutor of the Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office, are to notify the Commission if they accept or oppose the publication of reasoned decisions, within 48 hours. In the absence of notification, the decisions will be placed on the Commission's website, in a depersonalized form, in Romanian and English. According to the legislation, any decision can be appealed to the Supreme Court of Justice, within 5 days from the date of receipt.

In total, 18 candidates registered in the competition. They were subjected to the extraordinary evaluation, and following the checks, the Pre-Vetting Commission issued 8 promotion decisions and 10 decisions not to promote the integrity evaluation. Out of the 10 non-promotion decisions, 4 referred to situations of withdrawal from the competition or failure to submit the Declaration within the 5-year deadline, and 6 candidates did not promote, as a result of going through the full evaluation process.
