Moldovan speaker meets group of Moldovan citizens residing in USA

Chisinau, July 12. /MOLDPRES/- On the sidelines of the visit to the United States of America, Speaker Igor Grosu met with a group of Moldovan citizens residing there. He spoke about the current situation in the Republic of Moldova, as well as about the efforts to transform our country, the parliament's communication and public relations department has reported.
Grosu referred to the reforms initiated in the most important areas, despite the crises our country is facing. "For two years, state institutions have worked side by side to maintain peace in the Republic of Moldova, to deal with energy blackmail, economic recession, orchestrated protests, and now we are fully engaged in carrying out the much-needed reforms to improve life citizens and to get closer to the European Union", Grosu said.
Moldovan citizens residing in the USA expressed their opinion about the situation in Moldova, and Grosu encouraged them to be involved, to come with suggestions or to return to their homeland. "We need people to carry out European Moldova project", he said.
On July 11-15, Grosu is on a visit to the United States of America. Agenda includes meetings with members of the United States Congress and senators. Grosu will also participate in hearings organized by the Helsinki Commission, as well as in a public event hosted by the US Atlantic Council.
