Moldovan PM meets USAID Assistant Administrator

Chisinau, July 12. /MOLDPRES/- The priority areas of cooperation, as well as the joint projects underway were discussed at today's meeting between Prime Minister Dorin Recean and USAID Assistant Administrator Erin McKee, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
Recean appreciated USAID's contribution to modernizing some essential areas of the economy: improving the business environment, increasing investments, education, information technologies, light industry, tourism, development of wine sector and supporting the creative industries.
"There is no field in our country where we do not have bilateral cooperation projects. With US support, we are strengthening democracy and growing the economy through infrastructure, transportation and energy security projects. We have effective initiatives in the justice and combating corruption, economic development, which are priority areas of the National Plan "Building European Moldova", Recean said.
Erin McKee reiterated USAID's commitment to support our country in the European integration, by increasing opportunities in areas of interest, which have the objective of contributing to prosperity, security, economic sustainability and the rule of law in the Republic of Moldova.
