The figures were presented today by Deputy Prime Minister Dumitru Alaiba, Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization.

At the same time, 171 people requested compensation for the expenses for purchasing household appliances. "In the first two weeks, 896 former patent holders have already switched to self-employment. We are approaching 25% of the total. 171 people requested reimbursement of expenses. At least 50 people have already received the money through Moldovan Post Office", Dumitru Alaiba said.

He denied reports that the patent reform could be cancelled.

To continue their commercial activity, taxpayers can switch to a simplified tax regime - independent activity or register in another organizational-legal form.

The former patent holders, who switch to independent activity, can request by August 31 a compensation of 10 thousand lei (500 euros), money that can be used for the purchase of the home appliance or the arrangement of the workplace.
