Chisinau, July 17. /MOLDPRES/- New ministers were sworn in today. Thus, the Ministry of Internal Affairs will be headed by Adrian Efros, Dan Perciun will head the Ministry of Education and Research, and Andrei Spînu will head the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development.

The ceremony began with the singing of the national anthem of the Republic of Moldova. President Maia Sandu wished the new ministers success in their work and noted that they will have to continue and accelerate the reforms initiated in the areas they will manage.

"Starting today, three important areas - education, domestic affairs and infrastructure - come under your responsibility. Thanks to Anatolie Topală, Ana Revenco and Lilia Dabija for the work done. Each of them worked hard, was a model of fairness and deserves our appreciation. They led the fields in a complicated period, faced crises and managed to initiate reforms. These processes must be continued and accelerated. We have a lot of work to do. We have high expectations: we must manage to face the current problems, transform the fields and make enough reforms to achieve our goal, which is to join the EU by 2030", said Maia Sandu.

Prime Minister Dorin Recean thanked the head of state for accepting the candidacies of the new ministers and outlined the main objectives in the fields to be managed by the new members of the Government.

Adrian Efros is a colonel in the National Army, Dan Perciun is a deputy of the Action and Solidarity Party, and Andrei Spânu held the position of general secretary of the President's Office.

The new ministers were sworn in after Dorin Recean announced late last week that the heads of the relevant ministries had resigned.
