German partners support Border Police in strengthening institutional capacities

Chisinau, July 18. /MOLDPRES/- A new batch of special equipment for control and surveillance of the state border was donated to Moldova yesterday by the German Federal Police.

At Căplani Border Police Sector, the transmission event took place in the institutional endowment of the batch of equipment received in the first half of this year: 30 radio stations and 58 portable thermal imaging cameras, in the presence of the head of the General Inspectorate, Rosian Vasiloi, deputy head of the German Embassy in Moldova Ullrich Kinne and liaison officer of the German Federal Police Holger Aermann.

In continuation of the visit to the eastern border of the Republic of Moldova, at the Border Police Sector Tudora-1, the special equipment from the German partners in the last two years was exhibited - mobile workstations, multi-functional forensic magnifiers, drones, Toyota Hilux model cars etc. "The goods received will be used in the correct and efficient performance of service missions in the territory, the total value of the equipment and technique purchased with the support of German partners exceeds six million euros", the Border Police said.

Yesterday, the delegations visited Palanca-Maiaki-Udobnoe border crossing point, jointly operated with the Ukrainian side, and the "green" segment of the state border.

The permanent support that the Border Police receives from development partners significantly contributes to strengthening the institution's capacities to respond effectively in various risk situations at the border, the Border Police said.
