Chisinau, July 18. /MOLDPRES/- Next week, parliamentary hearings will be organized on the death of communist leader from the Transnistrian region Oleg Horjan. Deputy speaker Mihail Popșoi made the statement today.

The official said that relevant institutions will be invited to the hearings to examine all the circumstances of the case and the measures taken by the authorities of the Republic of Moldova.

He said that international bodies will be notified to contribute to the elucidation of this case. "This crime is a defiance of generally humane principles and the will of the absolute majority of citizens on both banks of the Dniester to strengthen mutual trust and live in peace and good understanding. Sincere condolences to the bereaved family", he said.

The General Police Inspectorate announced yesterday that communist leader from the Transnistrian region Oleg Horjan, previously illegally detained by the so-called authorities from Tiraspol, was found shot in his own home in a town near Tiraspol. The reintegration policy office proposed the creation of a neutral commission of inquiry, under the auspices of the OSCE Mission to Moldova, to go to the spot for an independent investigation into the circumstances of Oleg Horjan's death.
