European Village program: 150 projects worth 243 million lei completed

Chisinau, July 19. /MOLDPRES/- The European Village program reached the new threshold of 150 implemented projects, with a total value of about 243 million lei (12.1 million euros). They have brought significant improvements to the daily lives of about 180,000 citizens in rural communities.

According to the National Office for Regional and Local Development, most completed projects, 42 in number, aim at the construction, rehabilitation or renovation of public buildings, and through the implementation of 33 projects, public lighting was installed in localities. Another 24 villages are provided with water supply, water treatment and sewage systems.

The projects carried out under the program led to the modernization of 17 cultural centers, such as the one in Cucoara village, Cahul district, where the children from the folklore and dance ensembles received new traditional costumes and benefited from modern acoustic equipment.

The European Village program includes a total of 496 projects throughout the country, with a total investment value of 1.8 billion lei. So far, 1 billion lei has already been used.
