Moldovan president handed state flag to athletes to represent country at European Youth Olympics Festival

Chisinau, July 19. /MOLDPRES/- President Maia Sandu today handed over the state flag to the 24 young athletes who will represent the Republic of Moldova at the European Youth Olympics Festival. The competitions will take place on July 23-29 in Slovenia, the presidential press service has reported.
The head of state appreciated the outstanding performances achieved by our athletes this year alone at various European and world events: 232 medals in all age categories, including 44 medals at Olympics events.
The official wished the young athletes and their coaches good luck and urged them to demonstrate their sports talent in competitions.
