Moldovan parliament considers GUAM Convention on Mutual Assistance in Consular Matters

Chisinau, 20 July /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova’s citizens due at risk in the states where the country does not have diplomatic representation will be able to benefit from consular assistance provided by the diplomatic or consular missions of the GUAM member states (Georgia, Ukraine and Azerbaijan). Similarly, Moldova will provide support to citizens from these three countries.

This will be possible after today the parliament voted, in the first reading, the ratification of the Convention of the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development (GUAM) on Mutual Assistance in Consular Matters. The draft law was voted by 53 MPs.

The GUAM Convention on Mutual Assistance in Consular Matters was signed in New York in 2022.
