Chisinau, 20 July /MOLDPRES/ - A meeting of the Joint Control Commission (JCC) took place in Bender today, the Reintegration Policies Bureau has reported.

The Joint Military Command presented the report on the situation in the Security Zone for the previous week.

The JCC reconfirmed to office two military observers on behalf of Moldova.

The sides continued the discussions for taking a decision on matters concerning the illegal posts of the Transnistrian power wielding structures and their removal from the Security Zone.

The participants in the meeting focused on the case of the death of a civic activist, Oleg Khorzhan, which occurred in the Sucleia village in the perimeter of the Security Zone. Moldova’s Delegation firmly condemned the criminal actions which led to the killing of a man.

Taking into consideration the principles of cooperation between the OSCE Mission and the Joint Control Commission in the Security Zone, signed in December 2014, Chisinau’s Delegation proposed to initiate the research of the case’s circumstances under the aegis of the OSCE Mission.

Also, decision-makers demanded access on the spot for specialists of the law-enforcement bodies for the carrying out of criminal prosecution actions, under the legislation.
