Chisinau, July 24. /MOLDPRES/- Regulation on direct payments in the livestock sector from the national fund for development of agriculture and rural environment was published today in the Official Journal.
For the first time, this year, payments will be granted per kilogram of animal production obtained and sold. This form of subsidy was meant to encourage farmers to increase production volumes, carry out a more rigorous selection of animals.
To benefit from direct payments per kilogram of product, the farmer must own cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, birds, rabbits and fish.
At the same time, direct payments per animal will continue to be granted to owners of cattle, sheep, goats, horses. According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, about 150 million lei (7.5 million euros) will be allocated from the state budget for cattle farms, of which 120 million lei will be directed to payments per kilogram of milk and 30 million lei to payments per head of animal. Another about 27 million will be payments per animal for sheep and goat farms.
