Moldovan electoral body announced special conditions for exercising right to vote in general local elections

Chisinau, July 24. /MOLDPRES/- The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) announced to voters about some special conditions for exercising the right to vote in the general local elections of November 5.

According to the CEC, the Electoral Code stipulates that the right to vote is exercised in the locality where the voter has his domicile. If the person has both domicile and temporary residence, he votes in the locality where he has his valid temporary residence. If the term of residence has expired, the voter votes in the locality where he resides.

At the same time, according to the new provisions of the Electoral Code, the deadline for registering the domicile or temporary residence cannot be less than 3 months until the date of the first round of voting.

These restrictions are not valid for presidential or parliamentary elections.

The general local elections will take place on November 5.
