Moldovan hospitals to benefit from new batch of equipment donated by WHO, USA, Switzerland

Chisinau, July 25. /MOLDPRES/- A batch of high-performance medical equipment and consumables for district, republican and municipal public medical and sanitary institutions was purchased by the World Health Organization (WHO), with the financial support of the US State Department and the Swiss Cooperation Office. The donation event took place today at Ştefan Vodă district hospital.
The batch includes one hundred vital function monitoring devices, 30 operating tables, 15 anesthesia machines, 10 ventilators and 10 mobile lamps.
"The equipment and consumables will be used to provide patient care in the operating rooms. We have hospitals where operating tables are outdated, having been used for decades, but this donation will modernize the provision of the respective medical services", Minister of Health Ala Nemerenco said at the donation event.
The official said that Ştefan Vodă hospital is among the beneficiaries of several donations of medical equipment, because since the start of the war in Ukraine, the institution being in a border district, has taken care of many refugees from Ukraine.
Since the beginning of this year, the medical system of the Republic of Moldova has benefited from several donations of equipment, machines, devices, medicines and medical supplies, provided by development partners. The batches were intended for pediatric, oncological, neurological treatment, emergency medicine, etc., distributed in all public medical and sanitary institutions in the country.
