Moldovan authorities set over 40 proposals at meeting with largest taxpayers in agricultural sector

Chisinau, 15 Sep. /MOLDPRES/- Authorities pointed out over 40 proposals from the business environment in the agricultural sector at yesterday's extended meeting with the largest taxpayers and employers in agriculture. These include the visions of strengthening and the priorities of the agricultural sector in the short, medium and long term.

Farmers came up with suggestions to improve the tax payment mechanism, grant subsidies from the state, as well as adopt a consolidated position regarding the establishment of VAT rates for agricultural products and the food industry. The stimulation of the insurance mechanism in agriculture and the professional training of specialists was also approached.

The sides also discussed issues related to the labor issue, climate change, volatile grain prices and logistics costs.

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Vladimir Bolea said that agriculture is the most important economic branch and the state will further support farmers who do their work honestly, who are oriented towards economic results and aim to be competitive.

The official noted that the best solutions for each individual proposal will be analyzed, studying the EU experience, in order to offer new prospects for the development of branches in agriculture.
