GENERAL LOCAL ELECTIONS-2023 in Moldova: Synthesis of 3 November

Chisinau, 3 November /MOLDPRES/ - The electoral agenda of the 3 November day included a news briefing held by the candidate of the Party of Socialists (PSRM) for the office of Chisinau general mayor, Adrian Albu, and PSRM executive secretary Igor Dodon, along with the PSRM team from Chisinau. The subject of the event is, It will be better in Chisinau with PSRM and Adrian Albu!  

„It can be better in Chisinau! A modern capital where each citizen feels comfortably, no matter the ethnic affiliation, language spoken, political vision or kind of activity. Chisinau can have a developed infrastructure, repaired roads and without jams, modern public transport, well-arranged yards, clean and illuminated at night, energy efficient blocks of flats,’’ Adrian Albu said.  

The Dignity and Truth Platform Party (DA) organized a news conference today. ‘’On next Sunday, we vote the DA Platform on all ballot papers. Elect competent, integral, patriot people, who were on guard of the country when it was most difficult and they will fight equally tirelessly for our settlements,’’ reads the declaration by the DA Platform.   

A news conference titled, Authorities’ attacks against the Chance Political Party continue, took place today too. According to the formation, the law-enforcement bodies always have special attitude towards the Chance Party – hostile and inhuman.  

The candidate of the European Social Democratic Party (PSDE) for the office of Chisinau general mayor, Vadim Brinzaniuc, summed up the results of the current electoral campaign.

„Chisinau needs a change A change which is to bring more transparency, efficiency and responsibility in the public administration. A change which is to improve the quality of the public services, beginning with transport and sanitation, up to education and health. A change which is to stimulate the economic, social and cultural development of the city. A change which is to turn Chisinau into a modern, comfortable, really European city. I and my team can bring this change,’’ Vadim Brinzaniuc said.   

The candidate of the Revival Party for the position of Chisinau mayor, Vasile Bolea, held a news briefing. ‘’Reflecting on the intense weeks which have passed, I cannot but be proud of what we have achieved together. The electoral campaign tested out limits, taught us valuable lessons and above all, united us in a common goal. Each day was a proof of commitment and passion for our vision to revive and transform Chisinau and the country,’’ Vasile Bolea said.  

The today’s agenda also included a flahmob organized by the candidate for the office of Chisinau general mayor, Andrei Donica, with the subject, We demand the de-structuring of the mafia clan of Ion Ceban.   

A report on the observation of the general local elections due on 5 November, made public by the Promo-LEX Mission today, finds out the perpetuation of the practice of problematic interpretation and implementation of the legal framework. In the last two weeks of the electoral campaign, the activism of the electoral contenders has grown significantly, just as the number of cases which can be described as abuse of administrative resources and the ones with potential of corrupting voters. The quantum of non-reported expenses, estimated by Promo-LEX, has increased essentially.  

Today evening, Prime Minister Dorin Recean announced a decision, following a meeting of the Commission for Emergency Situations (CSE), according to which CSE instructed the cancellation of the registration of the electoral contenders nominated by the Chance political party for the general local polls due on 5 November.    

On 4 November, there is the silence day, when any electoral agitation is banned.
