Day of 4 November silence day in Moldova, ahead of next Sunday general local elections

Chisinau, 4 November /MOLDPRES/ - Silence day is in Moldova today, before the general local elections due on 5 November, this year. Under the Electoral Code, the electoral agitation is strictly banned on the day before the elections and on the day of the ballot.   

The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) warns that, on these two days, the carrying out/coverage of activities/materials with electoral content is not allowed and neither the appearance of candidates at TV or radio programmes.

Also, the electoral contenders cannot make transfers to and from the account titled,  Electoral Fund.  

The continuation of the electoral agitation by mass media, electoral contenders and citizens represents an administrative contravention and is sanctioned with fine worth from 750 up to 1,500 lei, imposed against private people or with fine worth from 1,750 up to 2,500 lei, imposed against people holding offices or the electoral contender.
