Chisinau, 15 November /MOLDPRES/ - All Moldovan citizens who had asked for the assistance of Moldova’s authorities were evacuated from the Gaza Strip. Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu has made statements to this effect at a news conference.

The Moldovan diplomacy head said that all citizens who had asked for evacuation were evacuated. The evacuation operations took place with the support of Romania and Ukraine and the last eight Moldovans left Gaza and are in the care of Moldova’s consular employee from Egypt.

“Subsequently, we will come up with more details on how these eight citizens will arrive in Moldova; yet, they are in safety now. I want to inform you that the process of evacuation of Moldova’s citizens from the Gaza Strip, who had demanded this, finished several hours ago,’’ Popescu said.

He noted that, on the last period, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry (MAEIE) had boosted the discussions with air companies from Israel and managed, with the support of Moldova’s Embassy in this country, to attract 3 new companies from Israel, including a state company, which are to launch or have already launched flights to Moldova.
