Today - last day of electoral campaigning for runoff election

Chisinau, Nov. 17 /MOLDPRES/- Today is the last day when electoral campaigning is allowed for the runoff election, due this Sunday.

According to the Electoral Code, electoral campaigning is strictly prohibited on election day and the day before it. During this period, election candidates are not allowed to show at television or radio broadcasts. Also, the local public administration and advertising broadcasters have the obligation to remove electoral advertising materials. The ban does not apply to information already placed on the Internet.

At the same time, electoral contestants cannot make transfers to or from the account marked "Electoral Fund".

According to the Contravention Code, the continuation of electoral agitation by the media, electoral contestants and citizens on the mentioned days is an administrative offense and is fined 40 to 60 conventional units (from 2000 to 3000 lei) applied to the private peole or from 100 to 150 conventional units (from 5000 to 7500 lei) for legal entities.

The runoff election will take place this Sunday, November 19.
