Promo-LEX observers signal over 60 incidents at runoff election of general local polls in Moldova till 15:00

Chisinau, 19 November /MOLDPRES/ - Promo-LEX observers have found out more incidents in the carrying out of the voting procedure at the runoff election of the general local polls. A programme manager at Promo-LEX, Nicolae Panfil, unveiled these incidents today.   

According to Panfil, till 15:00, the Promo-LEX observation mission received and processed information about 62 incidents. Among them, there are 11 cases of infringement of the right to vote, nine cases of unjustified presence of unauthorized people at the headquarters of polling stations or in the area of 100 metres, five cases of interrupting the process of shooting of electoral operations.    

At the same time, incidents were signaled which regard deficiencies in electoral lists, unjustified group voting, organized carriage of voters, electoral agitation in the area of 100 metres or at the headquarters of the polling station.  

„We registered also one case of violence or intimidation of observers, of voters or other people. At a polling station, one voter insulted the members of the electoral bureau, for the fact that he had not been allowed to vote. The person approached the operator without the identity card, only with its supplementary sheet. The voter said that, in the first round of the polls, he had been able to vote without the identity card and he even could photograph ballot papers,’’ Nicolae Panfil said.   

The runoff election of the general local polls is held in 273 settlements of Moldova today. Promo-LEX has static observers in 175 polling stations, out those 620 polling stations opened. Another 445 polling stations will be covered by those 50 mobile teams of the observation mission.
