Moldovan PM visits multifunctional social, cultural centre renovated within European Village programme

Chisinau, 12 January /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Dorin Recean has started his visit to the southern Cimislia district at the Hartop multifunctional social and cultural centre, renovated within the European Village governmental programme, the government’s communication department has reported.  

Due to this programme, the Community Centre from Hartop was endowed with system of cinema, high quality audio equipment, modern illumination systems and a production studio. Almost, 15,000 citizens from the area benefit from the centre’s services, where native films are screened, theatre plays, concerts, local events and exhibitions take place.

The prime minister, along with Culture Minister Sergiu Prodan visited the Centre and an exhibition of photos made in Hartop by an American tourist, as well as the local radio station.     

„On our way of integration into the European Union, the government will continue to support the projects meant to improve the people’s living standards, to develop settlements and consolidate the local communities,’’ PM Dorin Recean said in Hartop.  

The prime minister donated to the Hartop library the first set of books, collected within the initiative, Library under Christmas Tree. Another 5,300 books will be distributed in Moldova’s settlements in the near future. The PM discussed with pupils who attend the public library and urged them to further invest in reading.  

„Invest and multiply the wish for reading among young people,’’ Dorin Recean said.
