Moldovan president awarded Timisoara for European Values prize

Chisinau, 13 January /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today was awarded the prize, Timisoara for European Values. The head of state said that she was honoured to receive this distinction, which represents an appreciation for all Moldova’s citizens who defend their right to live in freedom, peace and democracy, the presidential press service has reported.

„I want to thank Mr. Mayor Dominic Fritz for invitation and the jury, made up of outstanding personalities from Romania, including of Timisoara, for this distinction. I receive it as a vote of confidence in the capacity of Moldova and its citizens to carry through the fight for freedom – a right, legitimate fight and necessary for our European future and for peace,’’ President Maia Sandu stressed.
