Moldovan government starts amendment of legal framework to be able to pay salaries of personal assistants from Chisinau

Chisinau, 15 March /MOLDPRES/ - The government has started the amendment of the legal framework as to the distribution of the incomes to the local budgets and allocation of the transfers with special purpose, in order to oblige the Moldovan capital’s city hall to earmark the money directly for the personal assistants. Through the concerned change, the cabinet will pay these salaries instead of the city hall and will subsequently retain the funds allocated from the budget of the city hall. Prime Minister Dorin Recean made statements to this effect today.

„Mayor Ceban cut the salaries of the personal assistants from Chisinau, leaving them without money and in a serious situation and the people with severe disabilities remained without such a necessary care. This is unacceptable and the government will come up with an urgent solution,’’ the PM said.

„The personal assistants do not have time to wait for Ceban to stop endangering this important social service. The people must not suffer because of the incapacity of mayor Ceban to manage the city hall and to allocate public money to the people in the greatest need,’’ Dorin Recean noted.

More people employed as personal assistants from the Moldovan capital accused that, since the beginning of this year, their salaries had been cut or they were even dismissed.
