Moldova's National Cinematography Centre has new director

Chisinau, 16 March /MOLDPRES/ - The film producer, Valentina Iusuphodjaev, is the new director of the National Cinematography Centre (CNC).    

Valentina Iusuphodjaev was appointed to office under a government decision, adopted on 15 March and published in the Official Journal (Monitorul Oficial) today.  

Contacted by MOLDPRES, Valentin Iusuphodjaev said that, in late last September, she had participated in a contest on the selection of the new CNC director, getting a majority of votes in the second round.  

The CNC director said that she was set to revive the work in the sector. ‘’It is necessary to create a fund of the cinematography, to get fiscal facilities for the film production, to put emphasis on the formation of a generation of cinema men at European standards, stimulate the quality productions, make an area of interest out of the cinematography and set up a united community of cinema men,’’ the CNC director stressed.     

Valentina Iusuphodjaev was born in the Camenca town on 6 October 1969. In 1987-1992, she studied at the Faculty of Letters of the Moldovan State University and in 1993-1995 she trained for the doctor’s degree at the Institute of Philosophy, Aesthetics and Law of Moldova’s Academy of Sciences.        

In 1993-1994, Iusuphodjaev was presenter and editor at the radio literary editorial office, in 1996-1998 – literary editor, direction assistant, video distributor of the Profilm Company, in 2016-2017 – person in charge of policies and strategies at CNC Moldova. Starting 2005 so far, she has been independent video and film producer at the Brio Film Production House, production of advertising spots, musical clips, TV materials, fiction films, production of social media events and campaigns and organization of trainings and seminars. Valentina Iusuphodjaev made full-length and short films, which had visibility on the local and international market. She is member of the Moldovan Union of Cinema Men.
