National Museum of Ethnography and Natural History registered in Smart Guide plaform
Chisinau, Dec. 21 /MOLDPRES/- The National Museum of Ethnography and Natural History in Chisinau was included in the Smart Guide platform.
The cultural institution aims to be closer to both visitors from our country and tourists from around the world by joining this digital platform.
Currently, the museum has a heritage of over 135 thousand pieces. In its rooms, pieces of ethnography and folk art from the main ethnographic areas of the country are exhibited. National and international folklore events, contests and festivals are regularly held within the museum.
At the same time, the permanent exhibition of the museum includes important exhibits of natural history, natural sciences, history of the plain, archeology, paleontology, geology, ethnography, which illustrate the past and present of the entire country. The museum has a temporary exhibition hall where pieces from its own heritage are presented, as well as handicrafts from the collections of folk craftsmen.
The National Museum of Ethnography and Natural History is the oldest public museum in the Republic of Moldova. It was established on the basis of the collection of exhibits of the Agricultural Exhibition of 1889, organized in Chisinau at the initiative of baron Alexandru Stuart.
