Painter from Iasi exhibits works in Moldovan capital

Chisinau, 16 January /MOLDPRES/ - The National Art Museum of Moldova, in partnership with Moldova National Museum Complex and the Culture Department from Iasi, Romania, has recently inaugurated an exhibition by a fine artist from Iasi, Atena-Elena Simionescu, titled, Transfigurations – Graphic Expressions, in the context of the National Culture Day.     

According to the exhibition’s curator, Lacrimioara Stratulat, the exhibition comprises 50 works of graphic arts, experimental engraving, object, through which the author imprints the mark of her artistic personality of a rare spiritual nobleness, through series of paintings which transfigure the human figure, with the graphic expression following both dramatic and ludic directions.   

In his speech, the director of the National Art Museum of Moldova, Tudor Zbarnea, said that Atena-Elena Simionescu re-brought nature to her woks, made connections between art and nature.   

Drawer, university professor, PhD, former rector of the George Enescu National University of Arts from Iasi, member of the Fine Arts Union of Romania,  Atena-Elena Simionescu had numerous personal and group exhibitions in her country, as well as abroad - Austria, Canada, Switzerland, France, Japan, Venezuela, etc. Her works are present in public and private collections of Romania and other countries.  

The exhibition will be opened till 13 February.
